Prepare Your Visit

  • Choose your boarding time: If you’re taking the bus, make sure you choose your boarding time ahead of time for when you want to leave London. It will take about two hours to get into the studio.
  • Expect to wait for at least 15 to 30 minutes unless you have purchased skip-the-line tour tickets. Even waiting may be entertaining, because the Cupboard Under the Stairs is located right next to the line.
  • Although the bulk of the Harry Potter tour is wheelchair accessible, certain portions, such as Diagon AlleyTM, the Hogwarts Bridge, and the slate floor of the Great Hall, would be difficult for individuals with disabilities to access.

Taking the Train

The nearest railway station to the Studio Tour is Watford Junction, which has direct connections from both London Euston (20-minute ride) and Birmingham New Street (1-hour journey).

From London Euston, further non-direct rail routes are available.

Mullany’s Coaches runs regular shuttle buses from Watford Junction to the Studio Tour, with a journey time of roughly 15 minutes. From 9.20 a.m., buses run every 20 minutes (with additional services available from 8.15 am when the first tour is at 9 am).

  • Throughout the day, the Studio Tour will be thoroughly cleaned, with an emphasis on touch-points such as doorknobs and obstacles.
  • Throughout the Studio Tour, there will be hand sanitizer stations. We respectfully request that visitors maintain the greatest level of hygiene by hand washing and using hand sanitizer on a frequent basis.
  • The Studio Tour will function on a one-way system for the time being.

1. How long does a Harry Potter Tour take to complete?

It is recommended that you take 3 hours to complete the tour. If you’re a die-hard Potter fan, you’ll want to stay for at least 4.5 to 6 hours for a more in-depth look into the world of Harry Potter.

No, pre-booking your tickets is required due to the limited number of visitors to the studio at any given moment.

4. Do the Harry Potter Studios have any rides or attractions?

No rides are included in a Harry Potter Studio Tour. You will, however, get a behind-the-scenes peek at the costumes, props, special effects, sets, and other elements that go into making every true fan’s dream a reality.

5. In what language does a Harry Potter Studio Tour take place?

The Harry Potter Studio Tour is entirely in English.

6. Is a Harry Potter Tour accessible to the disabled?

While most of the studio tour is wheelchair accessible, some sections, such as Diagon Alley’s cobblestone streets, the Hogwarts Bridge, and the Great Hall’s slate flooring, are more difficult to navigate. Visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing can take advantage of free British Sign Language tours. These tours can be scheduled at any time and must be reserved at least 14 days ahead of time. On the studio tour, registered guide dogs, hearing dogs, and medical alert dogs are also welcome. Please make sure you have proper identification for your pet with you when you enter.

7. Is it okay to bring outside food and drinks into the Harry Potter Studios?

You are welcome to bring your own food to eat in the Backlot or picnic area. You can also eat at the Studio Cafe, the lobby Starbucks, or the Backlot Cafe, which is located halfway through the studio tour.

8. Do you have to be a certain age to go on a Harry Potter Studio Tour?

No, all ages are welcome on a Harry Potter Studio Tour. All minors under the age of 16 must, however, be accompanied by an adult.
